Having exhausted our own production funds making Season One, we’re opening this next chapter to everyone who wants to see the journey continue. Across six planned hour-long episodes, we’ll explore the history still woven into today’s Downs Link, from hidden railway remains and rural industries to everyday journeys remembered decades later. Expect more discoveries with Stephen and Mike, fascinating archive material, local voices and those moments when an ordinary footpath suddenly reveals an extraordinary past.

We are almost finished editing Episode 5, illuminating the fascinating history of the now vanished Shoreham to Horsham railway line, affectionately referred to as The Steyning Line.
Join our host, Stephen Cranford, acclaimed from BBC Radio Sussex, as we uncover hidden stories, engage with local communities, and reveal visuals of the once-thriving Steyning Line. Expertly directed by Chris Kirk, produced by Lou Kirk-Partridge and co-presented by our wonderful transport historian Mike Pope-Jaimes, who are proud to be joining forces with Stephen.
